Reuben Street was on Camp Road,(now renamed Lovell Park Road) but was demolished under slum clearance 1939.....Try the Fleece Inn Primrose Street, had entrances in Reuben Street and Primrose Street. Read somewhere this may have been the Hope Inn. Was born five doors away, lived there until 1939.The 1851/1881/1891/1901 census sheets have landlord's names.....Hope this information is of help to you....Ken G

The 1901 Census Sheet RG 13/4229 folio 40, confirms the "Hope Inn" at no. 43 Reuben Street. The Innkeepers' name is John Wright aged 64, his wife is Hannah Alice aged 61. They have four sons and a daughter. William aged 39 and married, Charles aged 35 single, John aged 28 single, Lewis aged 19, and Jessie aged 17. .....Also living at 47 Reuben Street, is a widow called Sarah Wright who may or may not be related.
During my time living in the area, no such inn existed, 43 Reuben Street was occupied in 1937 by the Godfrey family, whom I have already posted in the "G" surnames Index of these pages........Ken G
