Will we ever see 'updates on database', with regard to additional information being added to database. (Done on 2 weeks/monthly basis?,dependant on frequency of additions)
(I am sure this would be appreciated by users/potential users)

The updates are not placed on the database at set intervals, in fact one reason why we decided to introduce an on line database was because subscribers were wanting us to publish data as soon as it becomes available and not wait 12-24 months for a large updated for one specific item.
The updates are recorded chronologically on the coverage field of the database, allowing the most recent update to appear at the head of the list. Our latest update was entered today, almost 13,000 entries for the 1841 Census and if you check out the coverage page you will see what I mean.
I hope this answers your question.
All the best
Mike.

As a current subscriber, I appreciate that a lot of the work on the database is done in the background.
Could you not put onto the general message board a short message -
'database update' What has been updated to encourage more people to look/subscribe to service.
Or am I missing something.

Hi Brian,
By clicking on the "Database Coverage Information" Link in the top left hand corner of the Home Page you get a list of the database updates, there have been 162 since the end of June when we first launched the Database. I think that the forum would be swamped if we generated a message each time we updated. I will check with Steve to see if it is possible to add a column to the list showing the "date added" to the database, would that help? Or do you think subscribers and non subscribers would like like a message generated each time we update ?
Mike.

If a 'date added' could be added-great.
But would you believe it, today is only the second time I have looked at your home page?
