Smile Shameless self publicity!!!!!

Hi,

A brazen plug for a book that I hope will be of interest to Yorkshire Indexers.

"Dunkirk 1940: Whereabouts Unknown" by Tim Lynch is the story of 137 Infantry Brigade during the fall of France in 1940.

The brigade was made up of battalions from Wakefield and Pontefract (the KOYLI), York, Knaresborough, Tadcaster and Leeds (The West Yorkshire Regiment) and Halifax, Huddersfield, Keighley and Skipton (The Duke of Wellington's Regiment).

Sent to France to act as a labour force before they were fully trained, these lads found themselves thrown into the front lines. Many were cut off from the Dunkirk evacuation and fought on in France long after the last of the 'little ships' had reached home. It's a story that has been all but forgotten and, as the 70th anniversary approaches, one that deserves to be told.

Available on Amazon etc.

Thanks for looking, if anyone had any relatives involved or wants to know more, feel free to ask.

Tim

Mike Hansell is beginning to gain confidence
I will allow the above item to remain on view, Tim has been very active on the site and the item he is advertising is relevant to several of the projects we are busy with.

My normal response to advertising is to remove the advert and ban the advertiser premenantly.

Should anyone else wish to advertise on this site, they must first seek permission, they must also be actively participating in the forum discussion's, transcribing or submitting data to the Yorkshire Indexers.

Congratulations on the publication Tim.

Mike.

Thank you Mike.

You are, of course quite right that I should have sought permission first but I allowed my enthusiasm to get the better of my judgement.

Should anyone feel it is inappropriate for the notice to remain for any reason, can I ask that they contact you separately to avoid any potential negative debate on the forum. If there are objections at all then please do remove it immediately.

All the best

Tim
