Which version of the data are you using, mine says June 2006.
I clicked on 'names index' then scrolled down to Whitehead, then looking down the christian names.
Looking for Alfred and Albert, no Alfred buried 1959 (other Alfreds found) likewise with Albert. (what year was Albert born?)
Regards Brian

Hi,

Harehills Cemetery

Burial 35001
Forenames Alfred Surname WHITEHEAD
Burial Day 16 Burial Month 4 Burial Year 1959
Age Years 72
Birth Year 1887
Grave Section C3 Grave Number 230
Type Consecrated
Register 2 Page 378

Buried with 5 others who appear unrelated in a common grave.

I Don't seem to be able to find Albert though. There is one Derek Albert Whitehead died 1930 but he is listed as son of Albert Whitehead.
I think the online records are more upto date than the Burials CD, hence I could find Alfred.

Regards Gordon

Re lost graves

Hello Brian and Gordon,
I am sorry it has taken this long but I have changed my isp so have been off the internet,Brian the CD I am using is the same one as you the 2006,but I have been over to Harehills yesterday and found my Uncles grave.
Gordon I did not find my Grandfathers grave as such but I found the section it is in but the headstones are so erroded you cannot see any names on a lot of the graves,if I ring Lawnswood would they be able to give me the exact location of the grave?,or near enough, we had to rub some of the headstones with a stone to bring the names up as with my Fathers mothers grave.
A further question,on the CD 2006 is the Armley Cemetery the one next to St Mary's Hospital? and would you know the number of the grave for Hiley Thorpe Newton?.

Thanks

Les Deighton

Hi Les,
If you ring Lawnswood they will probably tell you when next the workmen will be down there to help you locate the grave.
Regarding Hiley Newton, I can find him entry 5062 in Armley Cemetery but I don't have the grave number. But you know his date of burial (Nov 13th 1926 aged 49,) so when you ring Lawnswood they should be able to give you that info.
I would say yes to your question re the whereabouts of the cemetery.

Armley Cemetery, Green Hill Road, Leeds LS12 3PZ
